The pilot's primary responsibility is to operate the aircraft safely and efficiently. They must conduct pre-flight inspections, communicate effectively with the flight crew and air traffic control, navigate the aircraft, monitor weather conditions, and make critical decisions during emergencies.
Preferred candidates will have additional certifications such as Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) and experience flying different types of aircraft. Strong communication skills, decision-making abilities, and the capacity to work in a team are essential.
