Dubai is set to revolutionize urban transportation with the launch of flying taxis in the first quarter of 2026. The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced that these electric air taxis, developed in partnership with Joby Aviation, will operate from four key vertiports: Dubai International Airport (DXB), Palm Jumeirah, Dubai Marina, and Downtown Dubai.

Each air taxi is designed to carry a pilot and four passengers, reaching speeds up to 320 km/h. This means a journey from DXB to Palm Jumeirah could take just 10 to 12 minutes, significantly reducing travel time compared to traditional road transport.

The vertiports will feature dedicated take-off and landing areas, electric charging facilities, and passenger zones, ensuring a seamless and efficient travel experience. The introduction of these air taxis aims to alleviate traffic congestion and provide a modern, efficient means of transportation across the city.
