United Airlines has secured FAA approval to equip its aircraft with SpaceX's Starlink satellite internet, marking a major milestone in aviation. This advancement will revolutionize in-flight connectivity, delivering high-speed internet comparable to ground-based services.

The FAA granted a Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) for the Embraer 175, with the first Starlink-equipped flight launching in May 2025. United plans to retrofit 40 jets monthly, targeting full integration across 300 Embraer 175s by year-end while working to expand Starlink to 16+ aircraft models.

This upgrade enhances passenger experience, enabling seamless streaming, gaming, and remote work. United also offers the service free for MileagePlus members, adding loyalty value.

By adopting cutting-edge connectivity, United strengthens its position as an industry leader, setting new in-flight internet standards and reinforcing its commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction.
