Frankfurt Airport has announced the completion of a major upgrade to its baggage handling system, introducing advanced automation technologies aimed at improving efficiency and reliability. The new system, developed in partnership with Siemens Logistics, integrates state-of-the-art conveyor belts, automated sorting, and real-time tracking capabilities.

This enhancement is designed to handle increased passenger volumes and reduce baggage mishandling incidents. The automated system can process up to 12,000 pieces of luggage per hour, significantly streamlining operations during peak travel periods.

Airport officials highlighted that the upgrade aligns with ongoing efforts to modernize infrastructure and enhance the passenger experience. The implementation also supports sustainability goals by optimizing energy use and reducing operational delays.
